Nick Nelson has spent nearly a quarter-century building businesses and infrastructure across the data center, hosting, and cloud industries. He began his career in 2002 at One Wilshire in Los Angeles. In 2003, he opened his first data center at 250 Williams Street in Atlanta. Since then, he has helped build and operate hundreds of data centers worldwide.
Today, Nick is Senior Director of Systems Innovation at DataBank, leading the software systems that connect its physical operations with the customer experience.
Previously, Nick helped launch cPanel's Houston operations, created and led VPS.net and 100TB.com at UK2 Group, and worked on top-level domains at Rightside and Amazon. At StackPath, he helped lead the acquisition and integration of Highwinds, which brought IPVanish into the company, then led the VPN business through its 2019 sale to J2 Global as part of a $209.6 million transaction. He later became Chief Growth Officer for J2 Global's $600 million Cloud Services division and held board leadership roles with i2Coalition.
Having worked from the data center floor to the executive table, Nick brings a practical perspective on the future of cloud, AI, and digital infrastructure.
