How long have you been in the domain industry? Over 3 years now
Favourite extension: .com, co.uk, .in, .org
Domain name you wished you owned: AV.com 🙂
Describe your company and how long you have been there?
I run my own software startup in India called Global Websoft, where we focus on building products and services related to my niche domains. Over time we developed products like BulkWhoisFinder.com, DnSaleScript.com, DomainSaleLeads.com, BulkDomainLookup.com etc related to domains industry with a thought to give back and offer value to people around. We are also offering marketing outsourcing services to help sell more domains to lot of domainers. I have written a book on domains last year called SellDomainsFast.com which is available at Amazon Kindle.
Can you tell us about your last time at NamesCon and what you got out of it?
This is my first time attending NamesCon, but I did attend DomainFest in HongKong last year which proved helpful for networking.
Can you tell us about how your service or product helps deliver value to your customers?
BulkWhoisFinder helps extract whois information in bulk which eventually helps building sales prospects faster for domainers, brokers etc. For the services, we are introducing DomainOutreach.com, which is a good way to outreach domain sales and help increase chances of domain sales.
What are your thoughts on the new TLDs?
The new TLDs have grown up well in the Asian countries like China, and I feel there might be a need for sensible TLDs in about 3-5 years. The TLDs are still in the future not in the present.
What kinds of changes to you foresee within the industry in the next year? 5 years?
The industry has already seen a rapid fire change within the last 6 months, mostly because of the fluffing China Market, the interesting thing to see is the affect and drop on the renewals this year. I feel that premium dot com’s will be a rare comodity and will still be valuable and rare to find assets.
What are you most looking forward to at the upcoming NamesCon?
It’s going to be more about exploring business opportunities, trying to see for possible partnerships in any way, opportunity to find that rare gem of good domains and to buy it on the spot at sensing a good deal, trying to sell / offload some of my domain inventories if got a good price.
What industry trends or topics do you think will be at the forefront of panel and keynote discussions this year?
I feel it’s going to be the numeric domains, TLDs, premium quality short letter domains as a whole.
Who would you like to hear speak at NamesCon? Why?
I would like to see Mike Berkens talking about the GoDaddy deals, and an honest reply to understand what makes him sell his domain inventory and how he feels the market looks like. Would also be keen to hear Rick sharing some of his ideas on how he sells a domain.
What fact about you would surprise people?
I bought 16 LLL.com (3 letter dot com) domains all within last 8 months (2015) and sold quite of part of it.
What was one of your biggest “Aha!” moments in life?
Within the domains, it was when I was awarded “Rising Star of the Year 2015” at DomainX event in Bangalore last year.
How does your career compare to what you envisioned in your youth?
I think I had some idea, and that was a glimpse of me working in some cabin where I will be disturbed only if it’s important and I would be typing something on a laptop and doing that would just bring lot of money in my bank account and nobody around me would know what’s the amount it is. I was sure it’s not something of a brick and mortar business.
How would you describe what you do in a single sentence to a stranger?
I help people in the online business find the right name, and offer marketing solutions with my services and products.
If you had fifteen extra minutes each day, what would you do with them?
I would try to volunteer and see if I can create any difference around by extending my help in anyway possible.
What’s the most recent thing you learned (big or small)?
Since I am traveling around in US since last month, I have met lot of cool people around and during the process have learned lot of things. Bigger one is to focus on single big thing and make it your “The One Thing”. I learned a little about breaking the ice around strangers and try to look within and see between the lines.
What are you proudest of in your life?
I am proudest of becoming who I am in this journey. I am lucky to have a supporting family, a calm, positive and serene experience.
Latest and greatest accomplishment in your career?
I think the greatest are yet to come, smallest includes writing a book on domains “SellDomainsFast.com”, acquiring domains that I am in love with, getting a rising star award at DomainX India.
Name 3 things you can’t travel without.
My Mobile phone, my laptop and my Kindle, oh yes and music player with earphones too.
