The domain industry is a male-dominated industry, with women only making up one-third of the tech companies in Silicon Valley. Thankfully, this trend is slowly changing. In 2016, for example, Dynadot celebrated the milestone of their female staff reaching 50%.
Tonight, we honored the excellent women in this fast-paced industry at our annual Women in Domaining dinner at the Robert Irvine Public House, the latest addition to Tropicana Las Vegas. Over 100 guests joined us this year, a record-breaking number of attendees.
"We are very proud to be celebrating eight years of Women in Domaining," said Lisa Box, Vice President of Strategic Alliances, who's been spearheading this event. "The domain industry has always had amazing women pioneers and we are thrilled to welcome more and more each year.
"In fact, although women are only a small proportion of the industry, they hold senior positions—lawyers, CEOs, managers, and consultants. These women’s events are an important aspect of networking to ensure new faces are welcomed. New members tell us that it’s these network events that kept them engaged in the industry." With tonight's turnout, next year is bound to be another success.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating some of the brightest talents in the domain industry, and we hope everyone had fun!
